The Early Cold War
After World War Two the Displaced Persons Act 1948 helped European refugees come to the United States and start a new life. Also the U.S. government helped bring people to the United States that were living under communism in places like China. Due to the continued production of the war industries the economy experienced a time of prosperity and everyone had enough money to live a healthy and long life. There was also a small reduction in the population due to the Korean War when Americans again went overseas to fight for the United States.
